Wolf and large carnivore conservation through education

In cooperation with the Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana (ŠOU) and the LIFE Lynx project, we prepared an online lecture for students on large carnivores in Slovenia, with the focus on their ecological and social issues. The main goal of the lecture was to present general attitudes and knowledge about large carnivores and their influencing factors. Various educational approaches that can contribute to a greater amount of knowledge as well as to the formation of more positive attitudes towards large carnivores, especially the wolf, were presented.

We pointed out that a carefully planned pedagogical approach contributes to the wolf conservation actions, since low acceptance is one the most threatening factor for the species preservation.
