One goal of the LIFE WolfAlps EU project is to provide scientifically based information about the wolf to various stakeholder groups. In the course of several training courses, teachers in Austria also have the opportunity to learn more about the return of the wolf and to get ideas on how to integrate the topic into their lessons.

On 29 November 2022, another training took place in cooperation with the Pädagogische Hochschule Niederösterreich. 24 teachers from secondary schools, grammar schools and special schools throughout Lower Austria took part in the online training. The programme included information on the biology of the wolf, its protection in Europe and Austria and its successful recovery over the last 30 years. In a second part, the challenges of living together with wolves were discussed and livestock protection and management measures were presented. In addition, the teachers were able to take home many ideas on how the wolf can be integrated into the subjects of biology, but also physics, mathematics or sports.
