Annual monitoring meeting in Austria

The annual monitoring meeting as part of the LIFE WolfAlps EU project took place again on 5 December 2023. In an online meeting 18 people exchanged experiences on the topic of “Monitoring large carnivores” in Austria.

In the workshop, the monitoring results for 2023 for all four large carnivore species in Austria were presented and discussed, as well as various specific monitoring cases from across the country. At the beginning there was a presentation in which the LIFE WolfAlps EU project and the monitoring results of the different countries in the Alps as well as other relevant results of the project were presented. In addition, we presented two other LIFE projects in which the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna is involved in and which are relevant for the protection of wolves in Austria.
