At the beginning of July, the Junior Rangers, a group of young children involved in the educational programme of the Triglav National Park<\/a>, had an outdoor camp in the heart of Slovenian Julian alps, at the mountain hut in Uskovnica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have already collaborated with the Triglav National Park on the LIFE WolfAlps EU project as part of the Young Ranger programme<\/a>, which produced an educational booklet about wolves and the forest ecosystem, which brings children closer to nature conservation in a fun and entertaining way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the camp, we visited the Junior Rangers and explored with them the large carnivores that live in our forests. With the help of the educational backpack: ”Wolf in a backpack” and material on wolves, bears and lynx, we discussed how to identify their presence in the forest, and then started… exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, we did not find signs of large carnivores\u2019 presence, but we did learn something new and at the end we had fun with a ”lynx” and ”wolf” game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
